The Missouri Review 2015 Audio Competition

The Missouri Review is looking for your short audio documentaries, stories, poems, and humor pieces for our 2015 Audio Contest. A $1,000 prize will be awarded to the winner in each category.

Your pay-by-donation entry fee includes a one-year, digital subscription to The Missouri Review, complete with a bonus audio version of the magazine.

Winners and select runners-up will have their work featured on The Missouri Review’s website and as part of our Soundbooth podcast series. Submissions will be judged by TMR’s editors in collaboration with our guest judge, Andrew Leland, who is host and producer of the Organist (kcrw.com/believer), a weekly arts and culture podcast from KCRW and the Believer magazine. He’s also a contributing editor at the Believer (believermag.com), has taught radio and writing at the Missouri School of Journalism, and has edited books for Chronicle, McSweeney’s, Vintage, and elsewhere.

This opportunity is open to both emerging and established artists—we are most of all concerned with finding strong work, which is why I particularly wanted to pass on the word to writers involved with Anam Cara Writer's and Artist's Retreat. I would very much appreciate it if you could let folks there know about our contest by posting the attached fliers somewhere where they’ll get attention, or by forwarding this message to any email lists or newsletters that might have an interest.

Deadline: March 15th, 2015.
